Terms and Conditions

1. The following terms and conditions apply exclusively to this Promotional Competition (“Competition”). Participation in the Competition constitutes your acceptance of these terms and conditions. By entering the Competition participants agree to have read, understood, and accepted the same.
2. The name of the Competition is TOPS Chillaz.
3. The promoter is SPAR Group Ltd, SPAR Guild of Southern African NPC and the Build it Guild of Southern African NPC. (the “Promoter”).
4. The promotion will run from 22 March 2022 at 09h00 and end on 17 April 2022 at 23h00 (“Competition Period”).
5. No entries after the Competition Period (“Late Entries”) will be accepted.
6. The Competition is open to permanent residents and citizens of the Republic of South Africa, who are 18 (eighteen) years or older, except any minor, a director, member, partner, employee, or agent of, or consultant to the promoter or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by, the promoter, or a supplier of goods or services in connection with that competition.
7. No participants under the age of 18 (eighteen) years are permitted to enter the competition.
8. The Competition is only valid within South Africa. Participants must be within South Africa at the time of entering the Competition, for the verification process and at the time of the prize being awarded should they be declared the Winner, failing which such person will be disqualified and the draw of a replacement entry shall take place under the same terms and conditions as the first draw.
9. The winner/s must hold a valid South African ID and must over the age of 18. By entering any of our competitions you acknowledge that, should you be a winner, you may be required to provide proof of identification and other documentation as may be required to comply with statutory requirements. A prize will only be awarded once the verification process has been completed and confirmed as per the rules of this promotional competition. By entering the competition, entrants acknowledge that the competition will be managed in accordance with the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008. All personal information supplied by participants shall be processed in accordance with South African data protection legislation and as per the Promoter’s POPIA policy which can be requested by visiting https://www.spar.co.za/Contact-Us.
10. By participating in this competition participants agree to receive future marketing material from the brand/s on promotion. However, the participant has the right to unsubscribe to receiving marketing material or request the promoter to delete their information by contacting the Promoter by visiting the website: https://www.spar.co.za/Contact-Us.

Entry Requirements

12. To enter this Competition, Participants will be required to do the following:
a. Purchase any participating products from any participating TOPS at SPAR stores, excluding stores situated in the following provinces: Western Cape, Eastern Cape, KwaZulu–Natal, Upington, Keimoes and Belfast area.
b. Scan the QR code, select the Brand you bought, complete the Age Gate, take a picture of your Till Slip and click Upload, play the Game ( Tap Format ) and you will be entered into the Chillaz Prize Draw.
c. Follow the prompts to be entered into the draw.
d. Retain their till slip/s for proof of purchase from participating stores
e. Data rates will apply.

13. Participants may enter multiple times subject to each entry being linked to a new separate purchase and valid till slip.
14. Participants will be eligible to win once during the Competition Period, but can enter multiple times.
15. Original valid till slips must be retained for verification purposes.
16. Entries, which are fraudulent, unclear, illegible, or submitted via an incorrect entry mechanism or contain errors will be declared invalid.
17. All qualifying participants will be entered into the final draw and 100 winners will be drawn from all valid entries received.
18. The winner/s of the competition will be chosen by an audited random draw. The prize draw will take place on 20 April 2022.
19. Winners will be informed via a telephone call.
20. The promoters will make all reasonable attempts to contact the winner/s but if any winner/s cannot be contacted within 14 (Fourteen) days from the date of the relevant draw, and if after 3 attempted calls, the promoter reserves the right to draw a new winner/s. It is the entrant’s responsibility to provide the correct contact details.
21. In order for the particular entry to be confirmed as valid, the eligible Winner will be required to provide their till slips and proof of identification, including their full name, contact number and e-mail address.
22. Calls may be recorded for verification purposes.
23. Winners have 7 days from being contacted to submit their identification and any other required verification documents as may be requested to claim their prizes. Prizes not claimed within this period will be forfeited and the participant will be responsible for the cost of submitting proof of purchase and entering the promotion and any network charges that apply, as per the tariff rates charged by the participant’s mobile network provider.

Delivery of Prizes

24. The prize includes delivery. Delivery of prizes can take up to 30 working days from winner notification and final verification.
25. Should a winner/s be unable/incapable to accept a prize he/she will forfeit the prize and a new winner/s will be drawn.
26. Prizes are not transferable, negotiable and/or redeemable for cash in any way whatsoever and the promoters are not liable for any defect in the prizes. The Promoters reserve the right to substitute prizes with any other prize of comparable commercial value in the event of a prize not being available despite the Promoter’s reasonable endeavours to procure the prize.
27. The Promoters may require the Winner to accept and sign necessary forms such as an indemnity, and media release form/s and should the Winner refuse or be unable to comply with this clause for any reason, such a Winner will be deemed to have rejected the Prize and it shall revert back to the Promoter.
28. All risk and ownership of the prizes shall pass to the winners on transfer/delivery thereof.
29. The prize visuals and artwork is for presentation purposes only.


30. The Promoters are not liable for any technical failures affecting the participation and/or Prize redemption process of the Competition.
31. Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer or cell phone hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
32. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the competition rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.
33. The Promoter and agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise,arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the entrants in connection with this competition or the use of the prizes.
34. The Promoters may require the Winner to be identified, photographed, and published in printed media, social media, social digital media channels, or to appear on radio and/or television, when accepting their Prize or after having received their Prize.
The Winner will be given the opportunity to decline to the publication of their image and to participate in the Promoters’ marketing materials in so far as it relates to the Competition. The Promoters may use the uploaded images in whole or in part,and any reproductions thereof, worldwide for advertising, promotion, and publicity or otherwise on any website for any media purpose and for any other lawful purpose whatsoever.
35. By posting any content, experiences, or images on any social media platform, in relation to this Competition and its associated promotional activities, Participants consent and give the Promoters a world-wide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license, to reproduce, modify, adapt, and publish any content posted and/or submitted by a Participant on a social media platform,for the purposes of promoting the products and services of the Promoters.
36. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate and or amend the Promotion immediately and without notice if circumstances beyond its reasonable control prevent the Promoter, its associated companies (directors, officers, and employees) agents and suppliers, from continuing to conduct the Promotion. In the event of such termination, as far as the law allows, all Participants acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter, its associated companies (directors, officers, and employees) agents and suppliers, in respect thereof.
